Iran enters into another memorandum of understanding over cultural relations with neighboring country of Kazakhstan, developing its cultural reach abroad.

Iran has signed another memorandum of understanding (MOU) over cultural relations with neighboring country of Kazakhstan, developing its cultural reach abroad.

The MOU was inked by the director of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Abuzar Ebrahimi-Torkaman and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly on Thursday.

During a meeting that took place on Tuesday, officials from both sides talked about organizing reciprocal and shared art exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances.

They also exchanged ideas on holding other cultural programs such as book fairs and literary meetings.

Iran has engaged in numerous cultural exchanges with respective countries in an effort to boost artistic reach of the Persian society as well as strengthen bilateral cooperation with its neighbors.

Among countries expressing recent interest in or entering into cultural agreements with Iran include Oman, Serbia, China, Iraq and Cyprus.

The culture of Iran (Persia) is one of the oldest in the world, owing to its dominant geo-political position and traditions in the world.

Iran’s cultural influence can be traced to peoples as far away as Italy, Macedonia, and Greece to the West, Russia to the North, the Arabian Peninsula to the South, and South and East Asia to the East.
